Our Purpose

This congregation exists to share the good news that the holy Lord God offers forgiveness of sins to all people in the world because Jesus, the Son of God, has paid for those sins with his own sinless life and his innocent sufferings and death. They can live free of guilt and look forward to an endless life of joy and glory with their Creator in heaven. 

We acknowledge that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God given to us by the Holy Spirit through the prophets and apostles he has provided for this purpose.  

Thus, we proclaim God's Law. This includes his demand that all people be morally perfect. It reveals that this is impossible for imperfect human beings. We cannot in any way make ourselves worthy of God's favor. God’s Law condemns us. 

We also proclaim his Gospel. This is his solution to our problem. He loved us so much that rather than have us die because of our imperfection, he instead sent God the Son into our world as Jesus Christ to take our place. Having punished sin in Christ, God no longer will punish those who accept Jesus as their Savior from sin.  

Thus, we strive to strengthen one’s faith in Christ so that they may live for God out of gratitude. This we do through the study of God's Word for every age, and through the use of Baptism and the Lord's Supper. 

In addition, we provide opportunities for God’s people to honor and serve him, and we encourage each other to use our God-given resources and abilities to his glory and the benefit of others.
